Sharon Sheppard, M. Ed.,WDT, CDT is the Founder and President of The Learning Cottage, Inc. For nearly 30 years Sharon has enjoyed serving children by providing individualized reading therapy and academic support. She has experience serving students who attend public and private schools, as well as those receiving home-education.

Sharon is a Certified Structured Literacy Specialist and a Wilson Dyslexia Therapist. Additionally, she maintains a Professional State of Ohio teaching license and Reading Endorsement. She is a member of the International Dyslexia Association, and Christian Home Educators of Ohio. Sharon is an approved  provider with the Center of Effective Reading Instruction, Learning Ally, and Handwriting Without Tears. In 2021,Sharon completed I.E.P. Special Education/Advocate training through Wright's Law plus 20 additional hours of training through The IEP Advocate, Inc. Sharon is also a Professional Development adjunct instructor for Ashland University, offering dyslexia awareness and IEP workshops for the community & courses for educators who desire graduate credit.

Lori is a long time resident of Marysville, Ohio and her children graduated from Marysville High School. Lori and has years of K-2 elementary teaching experience in Columbus City Schools. She holds a current from State of Ohio License and Reading Endorsement. She has completed years of additional training in the Science of Reading, Wilson Fundations, and LETRS. Lori is accepting new clients and teaching our Summer Reading Academy.

Darla D’Ettorre, M.Ed., Ed.S. is a dedicated literacy tutor with over 20 years of teaching experience. She received her reading specialist education at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts and she is a certified Orton-Gillingham practitioner, specializing in structured multi -sensory approaches to reading instruction.

She has a Master’s of Education from Indiana University with a concentration in teaching English as a second language, and she received a Bachelor’s of Science in education from Ashland University. Darla is a certified teacher in Ohio, Kentucky, and Florida.Throughout her teaching career, Darla has been committed to creating inclusive learning environments that address the diverse needs of her students.

She has experience as a special education teacher, and she spent several years teaching English language development in Slovakia, Ukraine, Haiti and the United States. Darla offers remote sessions (for children & adults.)
