Dyslexia Simulation Workshop/Prof. Development Opportunity
Participants in this workshop will experience an in-person dyslexia simulation based on the research of the Dyslexia Training Institute. The interactive workshop is designed to create awareness and empathy for those who may experience dyslexia. It includes reading comprehension, writing, spelling, round robin reading, and auditory processing simulations. Cottage Conversations
The Learning Cottage, Inc. welcomes Christopher Dillon will be our speaker at the Marysville Public Library on Wed. May 4 from 6:00-7:00 pm. We will gather in the conference room downstairs in the Marysville Public Library.

Summer Reading Academy
The Learning Cottage, Inc. is excited to offer the Summer Reading Academy! This multi-sensory, small group program has been designed to help give your child key skills needed for their future and is based on the Wilson Fundations® Ready to RiseTM curriculum. This program includes twenty 90-minute sessions taught by Mrs. Becky Rader to take place Monday through Thursday June 13th through July 14th (with no sessions the week of July 4th). BEGINNING READERS CLASS
Mornings from 10:00-11:30am 5 Spots Available
These sessions are for those who would benefit from discovering or practicing early fundamental phonemic awareness and using multi-sensory strategies to identify sounds, reading words, and writing skills.
BUILDING READERS CLASS
Afternoons from 1:00-2:30pm 5 Spots Available
These sessions are for those already familiar with basic literacy concepts but who are ready to build upon their prior knowledge to learn and implement additional multi-sensory strategies and writing skills.
BEGINNING READERS CLASS

The cost is $660 (min. $330 due at pre-registration/balance due by May 31, 2022). Fee includes student materials, pre-assessment, instruction, progress monitoring, and a post-assessment. The 45-minute pre-assessment will determine which class is best for your child. Please call Mrs. Rader at 614 - 378 - 1721 to schedule your child’s pre- assessment for either Saturday, April 23 or Saturday, May 14 between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm. Pre-registration and pre-assessments are required. Assessments and classes will be held at The Learning Cottage, Inc., 129 Damascus Rd., Ste. B.,Marysville, OH 43040.
ABOUT THE TEACHER
Mrs. Becky Rader’s educational experience has been in both Christian and public schools teaching all elementary levels and some upper grades. She has both her Ohio teaching license and a reading endorsement. The focus of her career has been small group reading improvement using various types of reading instruction.
